What is Reiki?

🕉Reiki is an ancient healing practice that was rediscovered by Dr Mikao Usui in Japan in the 1920’s. Reiki is pronounced Ray Key Reiki & Seichem Healingand means “Universal energy”, “life force”, or “vitality”. Reiki transmits the elemental energy of the Earth.

What is Seichem Healing?

🕉In 1980, Seichem healing was rediscovered by Patrick Ziegler in Giza, Egypt. Seichem – pronounced Say-keem – is said to be one of the healing arts practised in Egypt that transmits the elemental energies of Water, Fire, Air and Angelic Light of Spirit.

What is Reiki & Seichem Healing?

🕉Reiki & Seichem combines the earth energy of Usui Reiki and the elemental energies of Seichem together.

My experience of working with Reiki

🕉 Reiki & Seichem Healing I have been practising in the field of holistic care, fitness and health for over 20 years and primarily took the Reiki 1 level as a form of self-care whilst looking after my Dad in his last days in 2016. It was during this training that I realised, if I was to have any longevity in this field of work, I needed to find ways to take care of myself first.

🕉The main focus of Reiki 1 is on self-healing and I used it to great effect to help restore me when I was feeling drained of energy. The feeling of deep peace, is like a gentle hum of wellbeing that I catch glimpses of at the end of my daily prayers or yoga practice in savasana, or when in meditation, but for longer. The feeling of positivity and uplifted wellbeing that pervades afterwards, never ceases to amaze me, even after all these years of practice!

🕉I went on to take Reiki 2 in order to work in a professional capacity with Reiki and soon after I undertook Reiki & Seichem Healing work with clients. I was able to see how the healing power of Reiki Seichem could be such a help, relieve pain and suffering in such adverse situations. It was a humbling experience, yet rewarding, as the people I treated expressed a lot of gratitude in receiving the healing.

🕉When I came across Reiki & Seichem I was intrigued by this style of Reiki that also brought in the use of the elements. I took the Reiki Seichem 1 & 2 trainings and found new in-depth experience in working with the healing. Soon after, I went on to take my Masters Degree and train to teacher level and I am able to pass on these teachings to anyone who wishes to learn.

How does It work?

🕉Healing taps into the potent universal energy, that is abundant in all things, animate and inanimate. This universal energy is the primary force that animates us and makes us feel alive.

🕉Reiki & Seichem Healing works on the principles of the energetic model of health, based on a system of energy centres and connecting energy pathways that exist within the subtle energy body, that draw in, circulate and supply life force energy to all aspects of being – that is, body, mind and spirit. The practitioner channels this healing energy via the hands to the recipient.

🕉We already have within us an innate intelligent healing system, it is the vitality of life force energy that impacts on this system and reflects our health and wellbeing. Receiving healing helps to boost this life force energy.

🕉When our immune system is healthy, we feel strong, vibrant and alive, when we are stressed and depleted our immune system more easily succumbs to illness and disease.

Receiving a Treatment

🕉Reiki & Seichem healing is received fully clothed, lying down on a treatment couch. It involves hands on or off the body to transmit and channel the healing energies working on the physical and subtle energy fields of the body. It can be felt as warm, sometimes cool, radiating, tingling and calming energy.

🕉Benefits of Reiki & Seichem The frequency and vibration of the energy allows the mind to slow down and relax, moving from sympathetic nervous system dominance to the relax, rest and replenish aspect of the parasympathetic nervous system, thus initiating the innate healing system in the body. With such a deep relaxation response and calming effect, Reiki Seichem can help to alleviate pain, tight tense muscles and release mental and emotional stress.

🕉In order to tailor the treatment to individual needs, a short consultation is taken at the beginning of the session. This is to establish the reason for the treatment and to highlight any areas that need focus, whether it is of a physical, mental, emotional nature. Depending on need, the session may be interactive in that you may be guided in relaxation breathing, visualisation, meditation and positive affirmations as tools for self-care and to enhance the benefits of the Reiki Seichem treatment.

🕉It's heartening to see that Reiki healing is being accepted in hospitals such as St, George’s Hospital, in West London. So far research into Reiki in a clinical setting has seen that it reduces pain, stress, anxiety, and depression. (Ref: Reiki Research Baldwin et al 2017)
